1. Blast furnace ironmaking
Temperature range: 1200°C to 1300°C
In the blast furnace, iron ore reacts chemically with coke to produce pig iron. This process requires high temperature to ensure that the iron ore can be effectively reduced.
2. Converter steelmaking
Temperature range: 1600°C to 1700°C
In the converter steelmaking process, carbon and other impurities in pig iron are removed by blowing oxygen to produce molten steel. This process requires high temperature to promote the oxidation reaction of carbon.
3. Hot rolling
Temperature range: 1000°C to 1300°C
In the hot rolling process, the steel billet is heated to a high temperature and then rolled into a steel plate through rollers. The high temperature of this process makes the steel easier to form and is conducive to improving production efficiency.
The high temperatures during the steel plate manufacturing process are generally between 1000°C and 1700°C, depending on the production stage. In the iron and steel making processes, the temperatures are higher, while the hot rolling process is carried out at around 1000°C.
